When submitting photos or text, please send them to the Newsletter Editor, at and we will also forward them to the webmaster.
Articles
Artilces should be submitted in a text format, Microsoft Word (.doc) or Open Document Text (.odt) are preferred. Please be sure that your name and CFPA # are clearly listed at the top of the item so we can give you proper credit.

Photos
Photos should be submitted in JPEG format. We ask that the photos be in color since they may be used for a cover shot. Photos should be a MINIMUM of 5” x 7” at 300 dpi. As you know, it is easy to make a high resolution image smaller without hurting the quality. At the same time, it is near impossible to take an image that was submitted at 3” x 5” at 72 DPI and have it look good in a publication. So we ask that you please send us images in the above format.
Also, make sure your photos include a caption or enough information for us to write a caption. Please place the caption info, clearly labeled to match the right photo in the same e-mail you send the photo. Also, please include technical information about the photo such as camera and lens used, ISO setting, exposure setting, anything special used to capture this image, etc.


Pictures for the members gallery are to be 500 pixels in the largest dimension, members have a total of 1024MB available in the Gallery so smaller, more compressed images are reccommended. http://www.cfpafirephoto.org/members/gallery/

Pictures should be protected by the individual members prior to submission, the Web staff reccommends digimarc http://www.digimarc.com/index.html to ensure that the photos are traceable.


Photo Essays should have one primary photo of up to 500 pixels in the largest dimension and additional pictures should not exceed 300 pixels in the largest dimension. Photos ofr the web should be at 72 DPI. Text should accompany the photos. The text and photos need not be copyrighted by the same individual. Send your artilces to Any Photo Essays will also be submitted to the newsletter for publication so check those requirements as well and submit two sets of photos if you do not want the pictures resized for the web.
